The Effects of Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment on The Golden Section of Personal

Abstract
The present study was designed to test the effects of cognitive-behavioral treatment on
depression and the golden section of personal constructs in depression group. The
cognitivebehavioral treatment program based on Beck's manner was used and personal
constructs in interpersonal judgment based on Lefebvre, Lefebvre and Adams-Webber's model
were examined. Twenty three college students in high level of depression were selected and
randomly assigned to the cognitive-behavioral treatment group and the waiting-list control
group. But 16 subjects, 8 in each group, were analyzed at the final analysis. There were no
significant differences in the depression levels and the positive negative personal constructs of
the two groups before treatment. The depression level of the cognitivebehavioral treatment
group was significantly more reduced than that of the waiting-list control group after
treatment. The personal constructs of positive judgment about self and others, the personal
constructs same judgments about self and others in cognitive-behavioral treatment group
were significantly more increased than those of waiting-list control group after treatment.
These results showed that depression level was alleviated and personal constructs were
changed to the golden section proportion as the effects of cognitive-be-havioral treatment.
Finally, implications, limitations and suggestions of the present study were discussed.
